The Rawalpindiz dressing room for PSL 11 mixed senior internationals with emerging names, and Shahzaib Khan was one of the players who ended the season in eighth place on 0 points. The season never matched the auction-day ambition in Rawalpindi.
Shahzaib Khan profile
Depth wins long tournaments. A 44-match season with travel between up to six venues tests every name on the roster, and squad players who stay ready tend to decide at least one match each season.
There is a pattern to players who arrive via Pakistan's age-group and domestic system, the same pipeline the PCB's new pathway tournaments are built to widen. They tend to be tactically literate early, and in this case match awareness — reading a chase, a pitch, a bowler's plan — tends to run ahead of raw numbers.
Inside the Rawalpindiz XI, the fit is shaped by Mohammad Rizwan's habits: youth is backed in clusters rather than one experiment at a time.

Ask the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium crowd what they expect and the answer is rarely subtle. Rawalpindiz players feel that expectation most on the nights the season tilts.
Shahzaib Khan and PSL 12
A title defence, a rebuild, a point to prove — every franchise carries a label into PSL 12. For Rawalpindiz, the label matters less than the first fortnight, when Peshawar Zalmi-calibre opposition usually exposes weak combinations. The telling stat will not be the headline one. It will be performance in the phase this player is actually bought for — and whether it survives contact with the playoffs.
