Ask Lahore Qalandars regulars about the PSL 11 roster and Usama Mir features early in the conversation about a squad that banked 0 points and a fifth-place finish across ten league matches. It was a rare early exit for the three-time champions.
Usama Mir — the full profile
Usama Mir took 6 for 40 in the 2024 season, one of only two six-wicket hauls in PSL history, and topped the PSL 9 wicket charts with 24 wickets.
On the road, this role gets harder: smaller grounds, dew, and crowds that smell blood when a bowler misses twice. The specialists who travel well are worth more than their home numbers suggest.
There is a pattern to players who arrive via Pakistan's age-group and domestic system, the same pipeline the PCB's new pathway tournaments are built to widen. They tend to be tactically literate early, and in this case versatility is the calling card: roles shift, standards do not.
How Shaheen Shah Afridi builds an innings decides where this player lands in the order of things: the top order is given licence early and accountability late.

Why some lines say PENDING: this guide refuses to estimate career numbers. If the PCB, ESPNcricinfo, Wisden or a checked record list has not published it, the line waits.
Travel changes the equation too. A squad based around Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore still has to win in Karachi, Lahore or wherever the fixture list sends them, and away points decided the playoff line last season.
Usama Mir and PSL 12
Neutral fans should circle Lahore Qalandars's fixtures against Rawalpindiz: those are the games where selection gambles get exposed, and where squad depth stops being a theory. The honest measure will be the big moments — a qualifier, a chase under lights, a final over. That is where squad reputations in this league are made.
