The Lahore Qalandars dressing room for PSL 11 mixed senior internationals with emerging names, and Daniel Sams was one of the players who wrapped up the campaign in fifth place with 0 points on the board. It was a rare early exit for the three-time champions.
Daniel Sams — the full profile
Coaches describe this role as the team's spare wheel and engine in one. When injuries hit a long season, the all-rounder's workload quietly doubles, and squads are judged on how well they planned for exactly that.
What stands out on the training ground is consistency of method, the product of a development path through a career built across domestic cricket at home and franchise stops abroad, the modern T20 professional's map: match awareness — reading a chase, a pitch, a bowler's plan — tends to run ahead of raw numbers.
How Shaheen Shah Afridi builds an innings decides where this player lands in the order of things: pace is held back for the death wherever possible.

Home fixtures bring their own texture: Lahore Qalandars play out of Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, and regulars there know how conditions shift between a fresh pitch in week one and a worn one by the playoffs.
Daniel Sams and PSL 12
Neutral fans should circle Lahore Qalandars's fixtures against Hyderabad Kingsmen: those are the games where selection gambles get exposed, and where squad depth stops being a theory. What to watch is how the captain uses this player when the match tightens — those overs and those batting positions tell you the real pecking order.
