Dunith Wellalage profile
Franchises hunt this profile at auction for a reason: one player covering two selection problems is worth more than the sum of the two halves. The bidding wars at the first auction started here.
Coaches who have worked with players from the global T20 franchise circuit, where short contracts reward players who adapt in days, not weeks tend to say the same thing — the basics are protected under pressure, even when the match demands improvisation.
How Shaheen Shah Afridi builds an innings decides where this player lands in the order of things: the top order is given licence early and accountability late.

The Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore factor is real in this league: local knowledge of bounce, dew and boundary sizes is worth runs before a ball is bowled, and Lahore Qalandars lean on it at home.
Dunith Wellalage and PSL 12
Between the 23 January auction and the 18 March opener there are barely seven weeks to turn a squad list into a team. Lahore Qalandars's pre-season will be judged on exactly that conversion. The honest measure will be the big moments — a qualifier, a chase under lights, a final over. That is where squad reputations in this league are made.
