Sam Harper profile
A wicketkeeper-batter carries two jobs in one shirt: tidy glovework to spin and pace, plus runs from wherever the order needs them. In a short tournament, one sharp stumping can be worth as much as a fifty.
Coaches who have worked with players from the global T20 franchise circuit, where short contracts reward players who adapt in days, not weeks tend to say the same thing — the basics are protected under pressure, even when the match demands improvisation.
Inside the Quetta Gladiators XI, the fit is shaped by Saud Shakeel's habits: the top order is given licence early and accountability late.
