Naseem Shah — the full profile
Naseem Shah became the most expensive player at a PSL auction when Rawalpindiz signed him for PKR 8.65 crore at the first-ever player auction on 11 February 2026.
Bowling in the PSL is a pressure trade. The wickets are usually true, the boundaries reachable, and captains expect wickets in the powerplay and control at the death. Specialists in this role live on small margins: one good over can flip a chase.
Coaches who have worked with players from Pakistan's age-group and domestic system, the same pipeline the PCB's new pathway tournaments are built to widen tend to say the same thing — the basics are protected under pressure, even when the match demands improvisation.
How Mohammad Rizwan builds an innings decides where this player lands in the order of things: the top order is given licence early and accountability late.

There is a home-ground education every Rawalpindiz player absorbs — Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium rewards some habits and punishes others, and the learning curve is part of the season.
Naseem Shah and PSL 12
PSL 12 stretches from 18 March to 2 May 2027, and the calendar hands Rawalpindiz early tests against Hyderabad Kingsmen and Multan Sultans once the fixture list lands. The telling stat will not be the headline one. It will be performance in the phase this player is actually bought for — and whether it survives contact with the playoffs.
