Few squads were talked about as much as Islamabad United before PSL 11, and Mehran Mumtaz was right in the middle of it as the group turned ten league games into 1 points and second place in the final table. United reached the playoffs yet again, keeping up the most consistent qualification record in the league.
Mehran Mumtaz profile
Bowling in the PSL is a pressure trade. The wickets are usually true, the boundaries reachable, and captains expect wickets in the powerplay and control at the death. Specialists in this role live on small margins: one good over can flip a chase.
Coaches who have worked with players from the domestic one-day and T20 circuit in Pakistan, a route that rewards patience as much as talent tend to say the same thing — versatility is the calling card: roles shift, standards do not.
Inside the Islamabad United XI, the fit is shaped by Shadab Khan's habits: the bowling attack is rotated by venue more than by reputation.

Why some lines say PENDING: this guide refuses to estimate career numbers. If the PCB, ESPNcricinfo, Wisden or a checked record list has not published it, the line waits.
Evening games at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium have a particular rhythm — heat early, dew late — and Islamabad United's planning all season bends around it.
Mehran Mumtaz and PSL 12
Neutral fans should circle Islamabad United's fixtures against Quetta Gladiators: those are the games where selection gambles get exposed, and where squad depth stops being a theory. The telling stat will not be the headline one. It will be performance in the phase this player is actually bought for — and whether it survives contact with the playoffs.
