As Rawalpindiz rebuilt through the first-ever PSL auction, Fawad Ali became part of a squad that wrapped up the campaign in eighth place with 0 points on the board. The season never matched the auction-day ambition in Rawalpindi.
About Fawad Ali
The jump from squad member to regular is the PSL's quiet storyline every season. It usually starts with one opportunity nobody planned — and a player who had clearly been waiting for exactly that.
What stands out on the training ground is consistency of method, the product of a development path through Pakistan's age-group and domestic system, the same pipeline the PCB's new pathway tournaments are built to widen: the basics are protected under pressure, even when the match demands improvisation.
How Mohammad Rizwan builds an innings decides where this player lands in the order of things: youth is backed in clusters rather than one experiment at a time.

There is a home-ground education every Rawalpindiz player absorbs — Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium rewards some habits and punishes others, and the learning curve is part of the season.
Fawad Ali and PSL 12
PSL 12 stretches from 18 March to 2 May 2027, and the calendar hands Rawalpindiz early tests against Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings once the fixture list lands. Watch the first selection of the season closely. Game-one XIs are the most honest documents in franchise cricket — everything after is adjustment.
