Few squads were talked about as much as Multan Sultans before PSL 11, and Faisal Akram was right in the middle of it as the group closed the league stage in third place, collecting 0 points along the way. The Sultans stayed in the playoff picture, as they almost always do.
About Faisal Akram
The PSL has become a fast bowler's league in reputation, but the specialists who last are the ones who adapt: slower balls on holding surfaces, hard lengths on true ones, and a yorker that lands under pressure in May heat.
The road here ran through Pakistan's age-group and domestic system, the same pipeline the PCB's new pathway tournaments are built to widen, and it shows in the way the role is played: the basics are protected under pressure, even when the match demands improvisation.
Selection logic at Multan Sultans starts with balance, and Ashton Turner's sides usually reflect it: match-ups are hunted aggressively, even at the cost of a settled XI.

Faisal Akram and PSL 12
Between the 23 January auction and the 18 March opener there are barely seven weeks to turn a squad list into a team. Multan Sultans's pre-season will be judged on exactly that conversion. The telling stat will not be the headline one. It will be performance in the phase this player is actually bought for — and whether it survives contact with the playoffs.
