As Lahore Qalandars rebuilt through the first-ever PSL auction, Sikandar Raza became part of a squad that turned ten league games into 0 points and fifth place in the final table. It was a rare early exit for the three-time champions.
Sikandar Raza — the full profile
Coaches describe this role as the team's spare wheel and engine in one. When injuries hit a long season, the all-rounder's workload quietly doubles, and squads are judged on how well they planned for exactly that.
Coaches who have worked with players from county and franchise cricket across several leagues, a route that hardens players to unfamiliar conditions quickly tend to say the same thing — preparation is treated as part of performance, not a warm-up for it.
Inside the Lahore Qalandars XI, the fit is shaped by Shaheen Shah Afridi's habits: the top order is given licence early and accountability late.

Why some lines say PENDING: this guide refuses to estimate career numbers. If the PCB, ESPNcricinfo, Wisden or a checked record list has not published it, the line waits.
Travel changes the equation too. A squad based around Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore still has to win in Karachi, Lahore or wherever the fixture list sends them, and away points decided the playoff line last season.
Sikandar Raza and PSL 12
A title defence, a rebuild, a point to prove — every franchise carries a label into PSL 12. For Lahore Qalandars, the label matters less than the first fortnight, when Karachi Kings-calibre opposition usually exposes weak combinations. The telling stat will not be the headline one. It will be performance in the phase this player is actually bought for — and whether it survives contact with the playoffs.
