Haris Rauf was named in the Lahore Qalandars squad for the first eight-team season in league history, a group that banked 0 points and a fifth-place finish across ten league matches. It was a rare early exit for the three-time champions.
Haris Rauf profile
A specialist bowler's value shows in the overs nobody wants — the last two of an innings, or a powerplay against set openers. Economy in those phases, not just the wicket column, decides whether a bowler keeps this role.
The road here ran through Pakistan's age-group and domestic system, the same pipeline the PCB's new pathway tournaments are built to widen, and it shows in the way the role is played: versatility is the calling card: roles shift, standards do not.
Selection logic at Lahore Qalandars starts with balance, and Shaheen Shah Afridi's sides usually reflect it: youth is backed in clusters rather than one experiment at a time.

Why some lines say PENDING: this guide refuses to estimate career numbers. If the PCB, ESPNcricinfo, Wisden or a checked record list has not published it, the line waits.
There is a home-ground education every Lahore Qalandars player absorbs — Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore rewards some habits and punishes others, and the learning curve is part of the season.
Haris Rauf and PSL 12
Between the 23 January auction and the 18 March opener there are barely seven weeks to turn a squad list into a team. Lahore Qalandars's pre-season will be judged on exactly that conversion. Keep an eye on match-ups: PSL captains are ruthless about exploiting one weak over or one favourable boundary size.
