Ben McDermott — the full profile
Dew games are the keeper's examination: a wet ball, skidding through at night, with the match in the balance. The ones who stay clean in those overs are remembered by selectors long after the scorecards fade.
Coaches who have worked with players from county and franchise cricket across several leagues, a route that hardens players to unfamiliar conditions quickly tend to say the same thing — versatility is the calling card: roles shift, standards do not.
Inside the Quetta Gladiators XI, the fit is shaped by Saud Shakeel's habits: the top order is given licence early and accountability late.

Why some lines say PENDING: this guide refuses to estimate career numbers. If the PCB, ESPNcricinfo, Wisden or a checked record list has not published it, the line waits.
Ask the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore (home fixtures) crowd what they expect and the answer is rarely subtle. Quetta Gladiators players feel that expectation most on the nights the season tilts.
Ben McDermott and PSL 12
With five to six venues in the PSL 12 plan, adaptability becomes a selection criterion in itself — the Quetta Gladiators staff will weigh it before the opener against opponents such as Hyderabad Kingsmen or Karachi Kings. The telling stat will not be the headline one. It will be performance in the phase this player is actually bought for — and whether it survives contact with the playoffs.
