Aqib Ilyas profile
The numbers rarely tell the whole story here. A 15-ball twenty and one tight over in a qualifier can outweigh a month of steady returns, which is why all-rounders are judged on moments as much as averages.
What stands out on the training ground is consistency of method, the product of a development path through county and franchise cricket across several leagues, a route that hardens players to unfamiliar conditions quickly: preparation is treated as part of performance, not a warm-up for it.
How David Warner builds an innings decides where this player lands in the order of things: the top order is given licence early and accountability late.

How to read the PENDING lines: a statistic appears here only when it traces back to the PCB, the league site, ESPNcricinfo, Wisden or a cross-checked record list. Anything else stays marked PENDING — a gap beats a guess.
There is a home-ground education every Karachi Kings player absorbs — National Bank Stadium, Karachi rewards some habits and punishes others, and the learning curve is part of the season.
Aqib Ilyas and PSL 12
PSL 12 stretches from 18 March to 2 May 2027, and the calendar hands Karachi Kings early tests against Quetta Gladiators and Multan Sultans once the fixture list lands. The honest measure will be the big moments — a qualifier, a chase under lights, a final over. That is where squad reputations in this league are made.
