Alzarri Joseph profile
Powerplay wickets are the currency captains trust most. A bowler who can swing the new ball or skid it through before the field spreads changes how the whole innings is paced — and how the opposition plans its chase.
Coaches who have worked with players from county and franchise cricket across several leagues, a route that hardens players to unfamiliar conditions quickly tend to say the same thing — preparation is treated as part of performance, not a warm-up for it.
Selection logic at Quetta Gladiators starts with balance, and Saud Shakeel's sides usually reflect it: spin is trusted through the middle overs even on true surfaces.

Alzarri Joseph and PSL 12
The season's shape — ten league matches, a four-team playoff squeeze — means slow starts are punished harder than ever; Quetta Gladiators's early fixtures, with sides like Islamabad United and Rawalpindiz in the rotation, will set the tone. What to watch is how the captain uses this player when the match tightens — those overs and those batting positions tell you the real pecking order.
