The Multan Sultans dressing room for PSL 11 mixed senior internationals with emerging names, and Steve Smith was one of the players who closed the league stage in third place, collecting 0 points along the way. The Sultans stayed in the playoff picture, as they almost always do.
Steve Smith — the full profile
Steve Smith joined Multan Sultans as a direct signing ahead of PSL 11 in a deal reported at PKR 14 crore, reported as the most expensive signing in PSL history.
As a specialist batter, the job is simple to describe and hard to do: score quickly without giving the innings away cheaply. Coaches judge this role on intent in the powerplay and calm under a rising required rate.
Coaches who have worked with players from a career built across domestic cricket at home and franchise stops abroad, the modern T20 professional's map tend to say the same thing — the workload is managed like a senior professional's, whatever the birth certificate says.
Inside the Multan Sultans XI, the fit is shaped by Ashton Turner's habits: match-ups are hunted aggressively, even at the cost of a settled XI.
