There was no quiet way into PSL 11 for Peshawar Zalmi: a new auction, a new structure, and Shahnawaz Dahani inside a squad that ended the season in first place on 1 points. Zalmi then converted that dominance into the title, beating Hyderabad Kingsmen in the final.
Shahnawaz Dahani profile
Death bowling is a separate skill in this competition, practised like a trade. The bowlers who own the final four overs get retained; the ones who leak there get auctioned. Every spell in that phase is an audition.
There is a pattern to players who arrive via Pakistan's age-group and domestic system, the same pipeline the PCB's new pathway tournaments are built to widen. They tend to be tactically literate early, and in this case the basics are protected under pressure, even when the match demands improvisation.
Inside the Peshawar Zalmi XI, the fit is shaped by Babar Azam's habits: the bowling attack is rotated by venue more than by reputation.

Home fixtures bring their own texture: Peshawar Zalmi play out of Imran Khan Cricket Stadium, Peshawar, and regulars there know how conditions shift between a fresh pitch in week one and a worn one by the playoffs.
Shahnawaz Dahani and PSL 12
PSL 12 stretches from 18 March to 2 May 2027, and the calendar hands Peshawar Zalmi early tests against Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings once the fixture list lands. The telling stat will not be the headline one. It will be performance in the phase this player is actually bought for — and whether it survives contact with the playoffs.
